Scala & Kolacny Brothers celebrate its 20th anniversary this year and have announced a date at the Olympia Theatre this May.
Scala & Kolacny Brothers is a unique musical project, made up of the two Kolacny brothers, Steven (piano) and Stijn (conductor), and the all-girl choir, Scala. The brothers usually work with a group of 20-30 singers, aged 16-26, at a time, but these days have more than 200 girls on their books, ensuring plenty of cover for their increasingly busy schedule.
They take classic rock and indie songs and reinvent them as elegiac hymns – to breathtaking effect – with the piano often the sole accompaniment to the voices.
Every show this indie-rock choir phenomenon has performed in Dublin has sold out, and this special anniversary concert promises to be even more unmissable.
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary (2nd April, 2016), the singers have recorded 20 brand new songs, including Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends”.
Scala & Kolacny Brothers play The Olympia Theatre at 8pm on Sunday, 29th May 2016. Tickets cost from €32.50 including booking fee & €1 restoration levy on sale via Ticketmaster, usual Ticketmaster outlets nationwide including The Olympia Theatre Box Office, and by calling Ticketmaster at The Olympia Phone Bookings on 0818 719 330.
The fees for this event include a €1 restoration levy. The restoration levy will allow The Olympia Theatre to invest in maintaining and enhancing the theatre to ensure that it continues to consistently deliver the highest quality experience for theatre goers, actors, performers and producers.
