The Salon Series, organised and hosted by The Liquor Rooms, is a monthly series of talks showcasing the local creative community.

Following on from the hugely successful series of talks on Cocktails+Design last year, The Liquor Rooms has once again come up with the goods with its latest offering, the Salon Series.

This series will provide a platform for local creative talent to tell us about their journeys, why they do the things they do, how they started out, where they are going to. The whole creative gamut is covered with the choice of speakers, from comic illustrators and burlesque dancers, to DJs and coders. And, we guess, everything in between!

The Salon Series launches on Wednesday night, 15th June, with the first topic being Music and Performance. Clara Rose Thornton of Vice & Verses: Neo-Soul Brigade, and Jess Kav of BARQ will be taking to the stage for this inaugural outing.

Clara Rose Thornton is a spoken word artist, culture journalist, event organizer, and radio and television broadcaster. Her work focuses on the arts and their intersection with social justice, history, and place.

Jessica Kavanagh has been a prominent influence in the emerging Soul, Jazz and Funk scene in Ireland for many a year, and her powerful and emotive voice leaves every audience rapt and wanting more. Come see for yourself!

The remaining events in the series are as follows:

Wednesday, 6th July

– Comics and Illustration with Debbie Jenkinson and Sarah Bowie of Comics Lab

Wednesday, 3rd August

– Coding with Vicky Twomey-Lee, Michael Twomey and Irina Dzhambazova
