Darkness Into Light is Pieta House’s flagship annual fundraising and awareness event, taking place in a variety of locations on Saturday, 12th May.

Darkness Into Light (DIL) started back in 2009, with 400 people in the now iconic yellow DIL T-shirts walking the 5km course in Dublin’s Phoenix Park. This year, there will be roughly 180 DIL venues across Ireland and worldwide, including Canada, Australia, Spain, and Germany. Last year, some 180,000 people shared the light and helped Pieta House promote suicide prevention and to tackle the stigma that leads people to the doors of the Pieta House centres.

Want to Participate?

All you need to do is register online. Registration is simple — just select the venue nearest you, go to the event page and click on “register now” button on the event page. You will be guided through the registration process and, once your registration is complete, you will receive an email confirmation. Want to Help Out?

Darkness into Light relies on a team of dedicated and enthusiastic people like you! It’s fun, it’s rewarding, and you’ll meet some truly incredible people. So, how do you volunteer? All you have to do is go to your venue page and register as a volunteer. You will be contacted by a member of the volunteer committee who will discuss your preferences and so on with you. Please note that individual volunteers must be at least 18 years old by 12th May, 2018.

Everyone is welcome to participate in DIL, but do note that children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please join Pieta House and Darkness into Light on Saturday 12th May this year, and lend your support to this amazing cause.
