The Laya Healthcare City Spectacular returns to Merrion Square this July, promising three days of the best family fun to be had anywhere this summer!
The Laya Healthcare City Spectacular festival is back for its 11th edition in Merrion Square in Dublin this year. It runs from 8th to 10th July, showcasing the best in international street performance, interactive family activations and workshops, delicious artisan producers and street food from around the world, as well as a pet wellness area.
A festival that has gone from strength to strength with each passing year, the success of the Laya Healthcare City Spectacular can be attributed to the diversity of events on offer, and a programme that is accessible to all ages and interests.
The organisers tell us that they have lined up the best Street Performers in the world to strut their stuff this July at the City Spectacular in Dublin’s Merrion Square. Look out for contortionist and entertainer Lisa Lottie; The Lizardman, a professional entertainer of 20 years standing with some serious tattooes, subdermal teflon implants, filed teeth, and a bifurcated tongue; the Kamikaze Fireflies, a dynamic duo who mix comedy and circus together with juggling, hula hoops, German Wheel and whip cracking; Australian contortionist Alakazam, and many, many more.
Families will have the opportunity to explore and discover Laya Healthcare’s Greatest Place on Earth, where everyone will have the chance to play, dance and create together in circus tents filled with free performances and workshops. The world famous fully-animated Titan the Robot will also be on hand to add to the excitement.
A banquet for the brain, you really should pay a visit to the ESB Spark Your Imagination area, a creative hub for children designed to inspire, educate and feed the imagination. It is a true feast for the senses with creative writing workshops from Fighting Words, fun and games from Imaginosity, a live science and electricity show from Doktor Kaboom and much more!
Amongst the other attractions on offer, we have JUST EAT Street, a feast of food, fun and entertainment running the length of Merrion Square South, with over 25 different cuisines from around the world and music from international acts; Sing Factory Vocal Coach, where you can experience the Superstar Recording Experience for yourself in the custom built mobile recording studio; and Petacular with DSPCA, where there will even be a vet on site to provide pet health advice. For the full programme of events for the festival, please visit the Laya Healthcare City Spectacular website.
The Laya Healthcare City Spectacular takes place from Friday 8th, to Sunday, 10th July in Merrion Square in Dublin. Admission is free of charge and everyone is welcome.
