The third instalment of Dublin’s FuckUp Nights takes place in Ballymun with Fuckpreneurs from the arts, advertising, and business.
FuckUp Nights (or F.U.N for short) started back in 2012 in Mexico City. These nights now take place on a monthly basis in over 100 cities worldwide, giving people the opportunity to talk about their biggest professional or business failure in a candid way.
At each FuckUp Night event, Fuckupreneurs share their stories of failure in an attempt to enable us break free from the stigmas surrounding “failure”, and to see it as a positive step that everyone must overcome on the road to success.
The speakers come from a wide and varied cross section of society, be they artists, architects, involved in technology, green, social and business. Each tells their story in 10 images, each projected for 40 seconds, and at the end of each story the audience asks questions. All accompanied by beers and good friends.
For this third Dublin FuckUp Night, the guys are moving out of the city centre once again, finding themselves at the Axis Theatre in Ballymun.
So, why the FuckUp Night? Because failure sucks, but instructs. Because one can learn more from stories of failure than from stories of success. Because the majority of professionals don’t create the “project of the year” in their first attempt. Because people feel the need to break free from the stigmas surrounding “failure”.
So come and join the fun and banter in Ballymun this August!
The event takes place at the Axis Theatre in Ballymun at 7:30pm on Thursday, 13th August. Admission is free but you do need to reserve tickets in advance.
Organised by Dublin2020 and The Centre for Creative Practices.
