WOW air is offering a new affordable gateway to Ireland from Boston Logan Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Airport.

WOW air, the happy Icelandic low-cost airline, is now offering flights to Dublin via Reykjavik, from Boston and Baltimore two days per week, all year-round.

With some 34 million Americans listing their heritage as primarily or partially Irish, Skuli Mogensen (pictured below), CEO WOW air said “We recognize the vast market for heritage for travel to Ireland and we’re happy to offer affordable year-round service from BWI and BOS to Dublin”.

The Boston-metro area has one of the highest populations of Irish-Americans in the U.S. Over 20% of Bostonians have familial ties to Ireland.

The transatlantic carrier’s low prices and easy connections are ideal for Americans interested in tracing their Irish ancestry. Connections in Iceland take place in the same compact terminal, with connection times as low as 70 minutes, and no need to re-enter security clearance.

Flights out of BOS and BWI are now available for as low as $99 one way including taxes, subject to terms and conditions. Bookings can be made on the WOW air website.
