Hair salons throughout the country will be participating in the Get Blown Away fundraiser for ISPCC Childline this May.
The #GetBlownAway fundraiser, supported by L’Oréal and RTÉ 2fm, takes place from Thursday 26th until Saturday 28th of May, with participating salons donating the cost of one blow dry by each hairdresser who is taking part to ISPCC Childline.
The campaign ambassadors are actress Amy Huberman; radio presenter and TV personality Jennifer Maguire; journalist Angela Scanlon; TV and radio presenter Eoghan McDermott and 2FM DJ Tracy Clifford.
Amy Huberman said, “I am delighted to be involved in the Get Blown Away for Childline fundraising event. What an easy and enjoyable way to support a great cause, by getting your hair done! Hats off to all the wonderful stylists donating the proceeds of blow-dry’s in salons all over Ireland. Support Get Blown Away for Childline and look Good, Feel Good!”
Angela Scanlon agrees saying “I’m so pleased to support this brilliant initiative by hairdressers all over Ireland. Remember, getting your hair done is not just a treat, now it’s your duty to have a blow dry on May 26th-28th to support Childline!”
ISPCC Childline CEO Grainia Long said, “At ISPCC Childline, we understand the importance of having a listening ear. We are really excited about the hairdressing profession, whose members are famous for their listening skills, supporting the charity that listens to children.
Childline needs sustained and continued support to ensure its long-term survival. This great campaign, led by Irish hairdressers with the supportive partnership of L’Oreal and RTÉ 2fm, is extremely welcome; this fundraising initiative will have a significant impact, as Childline needs to raise at least €3.5 million in 2016 to keep its service fully operational.”
The Get Blown Away fundraising project will help raise vital funds to ensure that ISPCC Childline services are ready to provide support for more brave young people, who desperately need to talk to someone.
Salons that wish to take part can register on the ISPCC website to receive their activity participation pack and further information.
So, start spreading the word and be sure to use the hashtag #GetBlownAway. And why not post a ‘before and after’ picture online. Remember, feel good – do good this May 26th – 28th!
