The Fingal Film Festival is back this September, a three day showcase of the best in emerging local, national, and foreign film.

Launched in 2012, the Fingal Film Festival offers the local film community and smaller filmmakers, both national and international, the opportunity to showcase their work in an environment where they have access to experienced industry professionals.

The mission of Fingal Film Festival is “to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience.”  The festival also serves to broaden the overall film culture experience by giving the audience a chance to explore the art of film making from different cultures through the numerous screenings of international and foreign films.

The festival organisers also offer specialised workshops and training programmes for festival contributors. These events allow access to some of the most prolific names in the industry, both nationally and internationally, and have been well received by all who attended.

As part of its ongoing commitment to recognising, promoting and supporting new and emerging talent, the festival will once again be hosting its annual awards. This year there are eight different award categories, including:

– Best Fingal Newcomer Media Award
– Best Short Film
– Best International Film
– Best Animation Film
– Best Student Film – Sponsors BAI & Film Equipment Ireland
– Best Documentary
– Best Feature Film
– Best Irish Language Film – Sponsors TG4 & Foras na Gaeilge

The Fingal Film Festival is brought to us by a dedicated team of people who work tirelessly and effortlessly to deliver a quality service to emerging filmmakers and to festival attendees. The 2015 festival runs from 25th to 27th September, and the full programme will be available shortly on the official website.
