The 142nd edition of the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show is back this August at the RDS, truly the equestrian event of the summer.
Since it was first held in 1864, the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show at the RDS has become a Dublin institution. A celebration of Ireland’s affinity with the horse, from the best show horses to the best international show jumpers, the Horse Show takes place from 5th – 9th of August and is one of Ireland’s largest events, welcoming tens of thousands of people from all over Ireland and around the world each year.
This year there will be over 1,500 horses participating in the numerous showjumping events at the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show, with close to €1 million in prize money on offer. International Show Jumping, National Show Jumping and Showing Classes will take place at the show and visitors can attend from 7am to 8pm from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th and from 7am to 7pm on Sunday 9th.
The first ever International Connemara Performance competition will also take place during the show, with teams from Ireland, the UK and France competing in the competition based on the format of the Connemara Performance Hunter Championship.
Dundrum Town Centre Ladies’ Day will also take place on Thursday, 6th August, an absolute must in the social and fashion calendar of Ireland’s most stylish ladies. The Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show takes place in the RDS Ballsbridge, from 5th to 9th August. Tickets cost from €21 for an adult day ticket, and may be booked online.
