The Dublin Book Festival, one of Ireland’s most successful and vibrant book festivals, has been running since June 2006.
The annual Dublin Book Festival showcases, supports and develops Irish publishing by programming, publicising and selling Irish published books, their authors, editors and contributors all in one entertaining, friendly and accessible environment that reflects the creativity and personality of the Irish publishing sector and its authors.
This year’s festival takes place once again at the Smock Alley Theatre between 12th and 15th November and promises a jam packed line up of interesting and stimulating discussions, interviews and workshops.
Some of the well-known names taking part in this year’s festival include Kevin Barry, Claire Kilroy, Liz Nugent, Sinéad Gleeson, Donal Ryan, Dermot Bolger, Anne Enright, Lisa McInerney, Marita Conlon McKenna and many more.
As well as the main programme taking place in the Smock Alley Theatre, there will be other festival events held in venues across the city; including Hodges Figgis, The Digital Hub, The Gutter Bookshop, The Irish Writers’ Centre, Fighting Words, Irish Georgian Society, Pearse St. Library and other libraries in Dublin. Attendees are asked to check the venue of their chosen event before arrival.
