Happenings presents the Irish premiere of ‘This Changes Everything’ with an open-air screening in Merrion Square this September.
Happenings, in association with Stop Climate Chaos, present an open-air screening of the movie inspired by Naomi Klein’s international non-fiction bestseller, ‘This Changes Everything’, in the beautiful surroundings of Merrion Square Park on Saturday, 26th September.
‘This Changes Everything’, directed by Avi Lewis, was filmed in nine countries and five continents, over a four year period. The movie is a powerful rallying-cry for a global movement to take on the challenge of climate change, and focuses on seven powerful portraits of communities, and individuals therein, on the front lines, from India, to Beijing, to Montana and beyond.
Naomi Klein narrates the film, making a connection between the carbon in the atmosphere with the economic system that put it there. She is convinced that it is up to us to seize the crisis that is climate change to improve and transform our failed economic systems. The guys are hoping that Naomi will also join in for a live introduction.
Will this film change everything? Absolutely not. But you could, by answering its call to action.
There will also be live music from Mundy and Oliver Cole, live DJ sets, food stalls courtesy of Irish Village Markets, and games such as Climate Chaos Croquet, recently unveiled to great acclaim at Another Love Story festival.
Gavin Harte’s Bicycle Generator will be onsite, as will the lovely people from Ben & Jerry’s, who will be dishing out FREE icecream. In return, they will be asking for signatures for the climate change petition to take positive action in Paris at COP 21 this December.
