The Ill-Advised Theatre Company presents Spring Awakening at Smock Alley Theatre for a limited five performance run this July.
Based on the play of the same name written by Frank Wedekind in 1891, this version of Spring Awakening is an engaging and ground-breaking musical. It follows a group of young adolescents as they make their way through the thrilling, complicated and mysterious minefield that is sexual awakening.
Set in Germany at end of the 19th century, the musical explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood. A timeless story set to an indie-rock score, it is certain to strike a chord with all audiences. Dealing with themes of oppression, grief and self-discovery, Spring Awakening is a celebration of life, growth and new beginnings.
