Marc Almond makes his National Concert Hall debut this August, in support of his new album, The Velvet Trail.
The National Concert Hall presents an evening with Marc Almond on Saturday, 1st August, in a special one-off performance by the iconic singer. The concert is part of the NCH’s This Must Be The Place series, and also the Irish leg of Almond’s The Velvet Trail Tour.
This is the singer’s first major solo jaunt in two years, and he will be joined by loyal stage companions Neal X on guitars, Martin Watkins on piano and keyboards, and Tim Weller on drums.
Almond says, “I’m really excited about the tour and the new album The Velvet Trail, I can’t wait to perform some of the songs live – this will be one of the most exciting shows I’ve ever staged”
Fans attending the concert can expect a mixture of old and new material with emphasis on the pop, big ballad and electronic rock side of Marc’s catalogue. With a live premiere of tracks from the new album, along with tracks from the 2014 EP The Dancing Marquis, this is a great chance to catch this eclectic artist at work.
Almond, the recipient of the Ivor Novello Inspiration Award in 2013, is currently touring with Jools Holland, on foot of the success of his award winning Ten Plagues song cycle performances and subsequent album release.
Marc Almond plays the National Concert Hall at 8pm on Saturday, 1st August. Tickets cost from €40 and may be reserved online or by calling the NCH Box Office on 01 417 0000.
