We’ve had film festivals and drive-through screenings and movies by the beach. Now we’ve got cinema in hot tubs.
Bonnie and Clyde. Batman and Robin. Turner and Hooch. Popcorn and Minstrels. What a cinema-essential that combination has become. What about cinema and hot tubs? Could it be the next great cinematic partnership?
CineBros want to “revamp what would be an ordinary experience into something special and different”. They’re doing taking the flicks – the talkies, the movies, the old silver screen – to a hot tub near you.
This August, they’ll be kitting out their special venue ‘Mo’s Gaff’ with hot tubs and attendees are invited to grab a beer and some food in their swimming togs.
And we’re interested. Cool Runnings has already sold out with those curious about the cinema experience where you’d least expect it. The screenings run throughout August and the line-up includes classics like Dazed and Confused, Wayne’s World, Stand By Me, Pulp Fiction, Ghostbusters and, of course, Breakfast at Tiffanys.
If the idea makes you a little uncomfortable you’re probably not alone, but the organisers guarantee that hot tubs are cleaned after each event, hot tubs seat just four people so you can reserve one just for your party and there are areas to get changed.
Events are BYOB (beer, wine and soft drinks) and food is sold on site. We doubt it’ll replace the sanctity of the traditional theatre, but if you’re looking to do something you’ve never done before, this could be the ticket. Tickets priced €20.00 plus booking fee are available online.
