The very first Dublin City Block Party, a full day of partying, takes place this August bank holiday weekend in the Tivoli Grounds, Dublin 8.

The August bank holiday is when we tend to go a little bit horsey or a lot ladylike. Either the masses flock to the west for the Galway race festival or to the RDS for the Dublin Horse Show. But there are other options for horsing around minus the actual equines.

The Dublin City Block Party is a day long bash taking place this August bank holiday at the lovely Tivoli Grounds in Dublin 8, combining good music, tasty food and drinks with games, dancing and fancy dress.

Archetype, Bodytonic and Hidden Agenda have put together an interesting line up for the event. Headlining the event are Daphni, DJ Kormac and Kerri Chandler. At the Garage & Stoop area you’ll find DJ Harvey, Marcus Damascus, Hidden Agenda DJs and Flori, amongst many others.

In the main outdoor area there are hot tubs, basketball, a ping pong tournament and arcade games to amuse. Get creative on your outfit choice as there’s a fancy dress bash taking place and of course there’s also a near mandatory silent disco happening.

Hell’s Kitchen is where you’ll find fuel for the party: The Big Blue Bus will be serving their legendary pizzas and Kanum Thai, Argentino Grill, Staple Foods and Mas O Menos will also be available.

As there’s no big sponsor there’s thankfully a good selection of craft beers and ales from Brooklyn Summer Ale, Sierra Nevada, Punk IPA and D.C Block Party Wheat Beer. For the non-beer drinkers The Twisted Pepper’s Mojitos, Dark N Stormy, Ginger Jack and Margaritas and Juices ‘n’ Smoothies will provide the thirst quenching.

Tickets are still available from €39.50 plus booking fee.
