Stylists and designers Lennon Courtney are celebrating the upcoming opening of their new stand-alone store with a customer open day.

Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney are two of Ireland’s best known stylists come designers. They launched their eponymous label Lennon Courtney because they couldn’t find the kind of clothes they wanted to dress their customers in. The clothes are designed for a woman who wants to look stylish but isn’t a slave to fashion or a trend-follower.

With that in mind the focus is on cut, silhouette and flattering shapes. It’s equally about quality fabrics and there’s lots of wool and leather throughout the collections. The knitwear is made in Dublin by hand.

This week Lennon Courtney is setting up shop in their first stand alone store in The Central Dairy, a building of character dating back to the 18th century – the duo have also commissioned a documentary about the building.

To celebrate the opening there is a customer day on Thursday 13 March, 10am – 6pm, which promises to be worth checking out.

The new collection – Vacation – for spring/summer is inspired by “sunshine, weekend getaways and country escapes”. It features several pieces in failsafe navy and black as well as jewel and pastel shades for the season that’s in it. Now that spring has reared its lovely head there are lots of excuses to justify a well-cut splurge.

The brand recently got the nod of all nods from Style Bible Vogue who said “If anyone knows what women want to wear it’s stylists-turned-designers Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney.” This season also sees Lennon Courtney being stocked in Notting Hill’s trendy Wolf & Badger in London.

The new store opens Thursday 13th March, 10am – 6pm.
