The Helix in DCU will host the city’s first Tattoo Convention featuring tattoo artists and body piercers, with plenty of entertainment for all.
This July, The Helix will be transformed into the dream location for fans of tattoos and body art in general, with hundreds of exponents descending on the DCU event space.
Once a taboo subject, tattoos have become almost de rigeur amongst the younger sections of society. No wonder considering that over 72% of celebrities under the age of 50 have at least one piece of body art on their person.
There will be numerous international masters of tattoo art in attendance, including top tattoo model Makani Terror — the organisers advise all attending to bring their cameras! And the general public also have the opportunity to get tattooed and pierced by the best at the expo.
Throughout the expo, there will be plenty of activities and entertainment, including body painting, fire shows, concerts, DJ sets, body suspension, dance shows, and tattoo competitions. You will even have the opportunity to try tattooing on banana skins with Banana Ink and be in with a chance of winning a FREE portrait tattoo of Conor McGregor!
Body Art Expo Dublin will also have Red Bull on site with its Red Bull Canvas Cooler Exhibition and a competition to win a cooler worth €1,000 — not too shabby!
Tickets cost €17 for a one day pass, and €25 for the weekend pass, and will be available on the door during the Expo. A special discount is available for DCU students on production of student cards – €15 for the one day ticket and €20 for the weekend pass. Children under 10 accompanied by two paying adults get in for free.
