On the 24th and 25th of July, Knockanstockan returns to the idyllic valley of the Blessington Lakes just outside Dublin.
Knockanstockan is about music – the aim of the independent festival is to bring together artists to celebrate, showcase and share their talent with like-minded people.
It’s not about big names though. While the line up includes some very impressive acts from Elastic Sleep, Gavin Glass, Elephant, The Eskies, Loah, O Emperor, Kingston, Red Enemy, The Eskies, Tucan, Contour, Rebecca Collins, Vernon Jane, Leo Drezden, Bunoscionn, Syd Arthur and Irish Eurovision competitor Molly Sterling, it also features emerging artists and offers attendees the chance to explore new music. There are many more acts – over 100 will play over the course of the weekend.
There’s also a full programme of performance art. Billed for this year are a spoken word artist, pop-up performances, dancers, Sandra Ball believes in Aliens show, stilt walkers, acrobats and interactive performances. A series of art installations will pepper the Blessington landscape based on the theme of light and dark and how artworks can be transformed at night.
Knockanstockan is a family friendly festival and there are activities and a special campsite for parents and children.
Tickets are priced at €80 and may be purchased online.
