Take a trip into Temple Bar to experience Dublin’s newest museum attraction and leave feeling like a rock star!

The Irish Rock ’N’ Roll Museum Experience located on Curved Street in Temple Bar has only recently opened its doors, but already is proving to be a hit with music lovers from near and far.

Here you have the chance to learn about the various artists who been the ambassadors for Irish rock music and made it so popular the world over, including the likes of U2, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher and Van Morrison, who all brought Irish rock to the fore in their own way, along with more recent stars like Hozier and The Script.

Embark on a musical journey through Irish rock history on the 75-minute guided tour of the Button Factory and Temple Lane Studios. Here you will be able to check out memorabilia from icons of Irish rock and international legends, like Michael Jackson’s pajamas! You will also be treated to exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the backstage and rehearsal rooms of a real working music studio.

The tour also gives you the opportunity to learn more about the vibrant Irish music scene over the years. Create your own band and have a jamming session in the rehearsal studios. Feel the buzz as you walk on stage in the footsteps of the legends of Irish rock such as U2, Hozier, and Sinéad O’Connor. There is also a U2 exhibition on site, which features Adam Clayon’s jacket and a blank cheque signed by Bono.

The tour continues with a visit to the iconic Temple Lane Studios next door, where the Oscar award–winning movie Once was filmed, and where the likes of Christy Moore, Rihanna, Will.i.am and The Script have recorded. Check out the iconic Neve sound-desk, among the biggest in the country in the Apollo Studio.

The highlight of this part of the tour is the Thin Lizzy exhibition, full of authentic memorabilia that includes Phil Lynott’s iconic mirror bass guitar, school reports and tour jackets. And for the grand finale, you will be able to record your own song in the studio and be on your way to becoming the next big thing in the pantheon of Irish rock!
