The Creative Show is back this May, the annual event that showcases the creativity of the students in Griffith College Dublin.
Creative Show 2016 returns to Griffith College Dublin this May, and will be launched in two parts. The Fashion Design and Interior Design / Architecture launches on Thursday, 26th of May, while Computing, Photography, Visual Media and Film will launch on Wednesday, the 1st of June. Both events will run for a week each at the college campus on the South Circular Road.
This showcase offers a glimpse into the creative process of Griffith students, whatever their chosen area of specialisation. Don’t miss this amazing chance to see and get inspired by the newest crop of Ireland’s brightest emerging talent.
The Fashion Design Exhibition, Interior Architecture Exhibition, Film & TV screenings and The Photography Exhibition will be launched by industry guest speakers.
The Graduate Fashion Design 2016 exhibition features the work of 17 talented young designers, with Irish designed and made graduate collections including womenswear, menswear, knitwear, bridal and accessories. The exhibition will be opened by Eddie Shanahan, Business & Product Development Consultant and Chairperson of the Council of Irish Fashion Designers, at 6pm on the 26th of May.
On the film and TV production side of things, the end of year film screening presents a great opportunity to see films from some of Ireland’s best emerging filmmakers. The screening represents a selection of the best work by 35 students curated from work throughout the Journalism & Media Communications Faculty.
The Photography Department will be showcasing the graduate work from the BA in Photographic Media. 18 full and part-time final year students will be exhibiting their major photographic projects. The work seen has been produced by each student over the course of their final year; while guided it is self-initiated and directed and is entirely personal to each photographer. Mathew Thompson will formally open the Photography exhibition at 7pm on Wednesday June 1st.
The Interior Architecture and Computing departments will also have their own exhibitions running during the Creative Show. Further details are available on the GCD website.
The Creative Show 2016 runs from 26th May to 8th June at the Griffith College Dublin campus, offering you the chance to experience the best of what the creative students of GCD have to offer. Admission to the event is free.
