Welcome to Night Vale, the wildly popular American serial podcast, is touring the UK and Ireland this September.

Welcome to Night Vale is a bi-monthly podcast, keeping the small fictional desert town of Night Vale up-to-date with all community goings-on, from local weather, news, and announcements from the Sheriff’s Secret Police, to mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events.

Located somewhere in the South-Western United States, the town of Night Vale is, according to Joseph Fink, one of the show’s creators, “a town in that desert where all conspiracy theories were real”.

It is written by Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, and hosted and narrated by Cecil Gershwin Palmer, voiced by Cecil Baldwin. Music is provided by the fantastic Disparition and the podcast is published by Commonplace Books. In July 2013, Welcome to Night Vale became the most downloaded podcast on iTunes.

Welcome to Night Vale novel
There is also a novel in the works, which will be released this coming October. According to Joseph Fink, the book will have all the characters and weird atmosphere that you want from Night Vale, “with a brand new story that explores parts of Night Vale that we just haven’t been able to get into with the podcast.”

You can subscribe to the Night Vale podcast via iTunes or Stitcher or Libsyn or any podcast app or Soundcloud.
