The schedule has been released and tickets are still available for Groove, Bray’s festival offering throughout this weekend.

2014 is shaping up to be the summer of the festival thanks in large part to the consistent weather. The sun shone on the Forbidden Fruits of Kilmainham, solstice weekend blistered at Body&Soul and hopes are high for a repeat Longitude heatwave, with news that the Saturday tickets sold out last week. If you’ve yet to get into the festival groove, then get to Bray this weekend and cross your fingers that our unusual festival fortunes hold out.

Groove is a two-day festival in its second year taking place at Killruddery Estate just outside Dublin. Paloma Faith (pictured below) is bringing her vintage style vocals to the main stage on the Saturday and homegrown favourite David Gray headlines the Sunday. Other acts not to be missed at the festival include James, Cathy Davey, and King Kong Company, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbot and the always entertaining Booka Brass Band (who just performed at Glastonbury) featuring Jerry Fish.

If you’re in search of something a little different the Groove Zone is hosting a Silent Disco, various DJs, spoken word and a chill out zone by the lovely water lily pond. Take some time to enjoy also to kick back and enjoy the location – Killruddery is spectacular, filled with planting and mature woodlands, water features and unique outdoor rooms.

Groove’s vibe is relaxed and family friendly with plenty to entertain little ones: The kids’ zone is in the Enchanted Garden with games, music and workshops specially curated for children. Each day the Irish Rocketry Society are staging a 30 minute display launching full professional rockets of all sizes, and other activities on offer include wall climbing, tag archery and aqua zorbing!

Groove takes the hassle out of festival life – it’s easily accessible from Dublin, by DART and bus, so for those who don’t do well in camp-life you get to sleep and shower in your own home. If you’re coming from further afield there are a range of accommodations partnered with the festival.

Tickets are still available online and at selected retail outlets around the city.
