The IFI Kinopolis Festival returns to the IFI in Dublin this December with a great selection of Polish film.

The annual Polish Film Festival runs from the 3rd to 6th December at the IFI, bringing wonderful new Polish films along with special guest Krzysztof Stroinski, to Ireland.

This is the festival’s tenth edition and this year promises to be one of its strongest programmes yet; displaying the wealth of talent currently working in Polish cinema, from elder statesman Jerzy Skolimowski to auteur Malgorzata Szumowska, to first-time director Bartosz Prokopowicz. The festival’s special guest, Krzysztof Stroinski, star of Anatomy of Evil, will take part in a Q&A.

Audiences can expect a superb programme of brand new Polish cinema and opening this year’s exciting feast of film is 11 Minutes (11 Minut), an Irish co-production from director Jerzy Skolimowski.

Mainstream Polish cinema is represented by Krzysztof Lukaszewicz’s Karbala and Jacek Bromski’s gripping new thriller Anatomy of Evil is set to have viewers on the edge of their seats.

The Animation programme is always one of the festival’s most popular events and this year’s begins with a trio of shorts featuring Hip-Hip and Hurra, the pink hippopotamus and purple weasel who together solve mysteries aimed at imparting knowledge to children and much more.
