Open Day is our favourite day of the year, when the IFI throws open its doors to present a full programme of classic films, and every single one of them is FREE!
The 2017 edition of the IFI Open Day takes place on Saturday, 16th September, starting at 12pm. Join the IFI for a day jam-packed with free film screenings, behind-the-scenes activities, and a very special gala event.
All 12 films being screened throughout the day won’t cost you a penny – you just have to queue up an hour in advance to collect your tickets. Tickets are made available on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure you don’t miss out!
There will also be presentations from the Archive throughout the day, a jazzy brunch in the IFI Café Bar, and an amazing competition to win flights to Paris!
ASK THE ARCHIVISTS
All day the IFI Archive team will be on hand in the lobby to show you some of the amazing work which goes on behind the scenes. Find out about film stock and preservation and get a glimpse at the treasures we have stored in the vaults.
Courtesy of Air France, the IFI has a pair of return flights to Paris for one lucky winner. Simply fill out the special form in the IFI foyer on Open Day, and you could be jetting off to the City of Lights!
Tickets will be distributed for each film in the IFI Foyer one hour before each screening starts. Limited tickets for the Gala Cine-concert will be available at 18.30. Tickets for all shows are strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment! Maximum of two tickets per person, per film.
