Be first in line for a sneak preview of the fantastic Zoë Carol Autumn Winter 2014 collection before it even hits the shops.

Summer has a lot over winter, but not in the sartorial department, and the silver lining of the onset of winter is surely the purchase of a new wardrobe. While early June is usually slightly too early to start thinking about such things, here’s an excuse: this Thursday evening, Zoë Carol is previewing her AW14 collection in The Candle Bar in Kelly’s Hotel. This is a fashion insider event that gives attendees the chance to pre-order for the new season.

The designer was born and raised in Hong Kong and Galway. Zoë Wong studied at Trinity College before moving to New York where she pursued Fashion Design at Parsons The New School for Design. She then worked for TSE, Libra Leather and Pour la Victoire, developing particular interests in the raw materials she was working with. She launched her eponymous label, Zoë Carol, in 2013.

It’s a modern label with a contemporary feel. There’s nothing frivolous complicating the aesthetics. Zoë Carol makes simple, tailored pieces with an awareness of texture and structure. On sale at the preview an icy blue coat in mohair, a simple grey slip dress and a black tailored jumpsuit could all become staple wardrobe pieces.

This season the designer’s collection entitled ‘Majestic Antarctica’ was inspired by the “landscape of rocks and melting glaciers”. It’s a timely collection that features an icy palette of black, cold blue, indigo, winter white and frosty silvers.

Zoë Carol is also stocked at ATELIER 27 in Drury Street.

Preview takes place at The Candle Bar, Thursday, June 5th, from 6:30-8:30pm.
