This May 16th and 17th, the Docklands Summer Festival takes place in association with Waterways Ireland and the Docklands Business Forum.
The 2015 Docklands Summer Festival promises a weekend of fun and entertainment, both in the water and on the land.
Located on Grand Canal Dock, the celebration includes competitions, open air DJs, Come Try it Sessions, wake boarding demonstrations and international food markets. Water-based activities that the public can try out include kayaking, paddle boarding, barge rides, as well as a range of other exciting water sports.
For those who prefer to stay dry, there is the opportunity to sponsor a duck in the Dockland’s Charity Rubber Duck Race or play some water golf off the jetty.
Land activities will be an integral part of the festival, with street performers, face-painting and music all across the dock to entertain attendees. FM104 will be broadcasting live throughout the festival from their FM104 Road Hog with gifts and prizes to give away.
On Saturday 16th, there will be a chance to see a coast guard helicopter in a flyover show at 3pm. On Sunday 17th, prepare to be wowed by the performers in the Street Performance World Championships Acts taking place all day, from 11am to 5pm.
There are plenty of fun happenings for little ones too, with Decorate your Duck workshops and kiddies funfair attractions. The festival kicks off at 11am on Saturday May 16th and ends at 5pm on Sunday May 17th and more information can be found on the Docklands Summer Festival website.
