Get down to the Beatyard this summer for great tunes, the best local food, fun and games or even a new ‘do.
This August bank holiday the Beatyard festival beats once more – a celebration of music, food and games. This is the tenth anniversary of the Beatyard festival but this year they’ve decided to take things to the seaside. Dún Laoghaire Harbour is home to the festival for the weekend, with the expanse of Dublin Bay its beautiful background.
Providing the beats for the festival are Sister Sledge, Four Tet, Neneh Cherry, Barrington Levy, Telephones, Madlib, I am the Cosmos and more. Stay tuned as more acts are still to be announced.
As for the Eatyard, it’s got lots of local favourites like The Big Blue Bus, Spud Box, Staple Foods, Angel Churros, Suha’s Falafel and Teddy’s ice-cream, because no trip to Dún Laoghaire would be complete without a 99. Tipple Town are on cocktails, Brewtonic on beers and Wine-ly on, well, wine. 3FE is providing the caffeine as well as hosting a barista jam or coffee-making showcase, to find the best barista in town.
In the Gamesyard there’s plenty to play with, experience and entertain, from crazy golf and basketball to steaming hot tubs. There’s also a games and pinball arcade, street art versus graffiti, a vinyl record store and Dublin’s first sneaker fair, with rare sneaks from retailers across Ireland the UK. You can even get your locks tended to at the pop-up hair salon. What about the best worst movie ever – they’ll be showing that too.
All the early bird tickets are sold out but tickets are still available at €59 per day or €95 for the weekend from Eventbrite.
Beatyard takes place in Dún Laoghaire Harbour on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August.
