Ballet Ireland presents both traditional full-length classics and new commissioned ballets which resonate with audiences of the 21st century.
Established in 1998, each spring and autumn Ballet Ireland performs in large scale theatres in Dublin and provincial venues around Ireland. This November 18th- 21st at the Gaiety Theatre, it presents Coppelia, a witty ballet in which young lovers create chaos.
Franz and his reporter fiancée Hildy are curious about the beautiful girl Coppelia. Hildy begins to suspect that things are not all as they seem and she and her friends follow the seemingly perfect starlet and arrive at Dr. Coppelius’ laboratories. Inside, they stumble upon a magical and strange world, uncovering secrets that will change them forever.
